About Eric Flanagan
Eric started Flanagan in 1999 with the purchase of 40 acres in Sonoma County and he and his oldest daughter, Riley, planted the first vine in 2001. Their first wine was one barrel of Cabernet made in 2004. Flanagan now makes about 3,000 cases of wine a year from the top vineyard sites in Sonoma County. In 2017 Riley Flanagan launched “Riley’s Rows” with her mission being to, “Offer great wines, made with integrity, at an accessible price.” Her wines are already featured at several of the top restaurants and Country Clubs in the country.
Eric also manages a vineyard investment fund called Russian River Partners. Eric has acquired 6 vineyards for the Fund totaling 370 acres including the iconic Platt Ranch. The 300+ acre ranch is just 2.5 miles from the Pacific Ocean and has 31 acres planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Platt is recognized as one of the greatest vineyards in CA.
If Eric isn’t at the winery or in the vineyard you will most likely find him just offshore surfing the ice cold waters of the Sonoma Coast, or, somewhere around the world hosting a wine dinner. His favorite thing is being a Dad and his largest character flaw is talking too much about his daughters. He wrote several children’s books featuring Riley, Lola, and Ruby when they were younger.
Eric, his wife Kit, and their three daughters (Riley, Lola, and Ruby) make their home in Sonoma County.
