In 1980, Robert Mark Kamen found inspiration in 280 acres on the southwestern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountain Range in Sonoma, now called the Moon Mountain District AVA. Viticulturist Phil Coturri was introduced to the project early on and shared Robert’s philosophy of preserving the wildness of the site, implementing as little intervention as necessary and farming organically since inception.
