About Mary Taylor

In 2007, Mary hopped on a plane to explore the storied region of Burgundy, where she immersed herself in the local wine industry. There, among some of the world’s most dedicated artisan winemakers, she observed carefully. Following that experience, Mary launched the popular newsletter, “The Thoreau Wine Society” which Food & Wine magazine named one of 2008’s “Best Wine Reads”.

From her years of experience working with both consumers and members of the trade, and tasting thousands of wines, Mary came to realize that American consumers needed a brand to help guide them through the complex landscape of European wine. In 2015 she turned that vision into a reality by creating Mary Taylor Wine.

Today, Mary is based in New England but she still crisscrosses Europe several times each year in search of that next great “story in a bottle.”
